Overview

Certified Medical Assistant

Hiawatha Northridge Family Medicine

* $5000 Sign On Bonus *

FT 0.9 MondayFriday

4/9 hour days OR 3/10 hour days one 6 hour day

Certified Medical Assistants at UnityPoint Clinic are a major component of a patients journey. As one of the first lines of defense in the medical process clinical assistants lend a major hand in keeping our clinics running smoothly. Responsibilities

As a CMA at Hiawath Northridge Family Medicine you will work with patients performing but not limited to the following:

  • Function as a clinician educator and resource for patients both in person and via the patient portal.
  • Prepare patient for provider visits which includes history taking vital sign measurement and medication reconciliation.
  • Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patients electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
  • Preauthorize care procedures and medications with insurance companies.
  • Coordinate care and testing needs for the patient.
  • Complete necessary forms for referrals and FMLA.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Current CMA/RMA Certification through AAMA AMT NHA or NCT.
  • High school diploma.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
  • Knowledge of clinical skill techniques procedures medical diagnoses and treatments.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A positive and teamoriented attitude.
  • Ability to assist providers in professional manner.
