Assistant Professor of Business (TenureTrack)
Lyon College Batesville Arkansas
Lyon College invites applications for a tenuretrack Assistant or Associate Professor of Business with a focus in Social Entrepreneurship / Entrepreneurship starting in August 2025. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic growing institution committed to developing an entrepreneurial focus in the current business and economics curriculum inspiring curiosity and fostering critical and deep thinking in a liberal arts environment. The salary range is $55000$72000 depending on a candidates experience.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Business or other fields related to social entrepreneurship/ entrepreneurship is preferred. An MBA or other masters degree in related fields combined with significant relevant professional experience will also be considered.
- Undergraduate teaching experience is highly preferred.
- A commitment to liberal arts education is essential.
- Work experience with entrepreneurial finance or other aspects of business startups is a plus.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Teach courses needed by the discipline and division and college which includes courses in Social Entrepreneurship and may include courses in Management Marketing Business Strategy or other related courses in the candidates areas of expertise.
- Teach a sequence of Social Entrepreneurship courses for the Business Capstone required for all Business Majors and Social Entrepreneurship Minors.
- Engage in a 21 loadhour 3/4 teaching schedule.
- Work across disciplines to develop experiential learning opportunities for students in the recentlycreated social entrepreneurship minor. This work may include crossdisciplinary involvement in projects with the Colleges new dental and veterinary schools.
- Contribute to the Colleges robust academic culture by engaging in appropriate scholarly activity and where possible involving and mentoring students in that agenda. Other support to students may include advising or coadvising student clubs or advising teams in student competitions.
- Serve on college committees; advise Business majors; participate in recruiting activities as appropriate; engage in curricular development and assessment efforts; and engage with the surrounding community.
