Field Project Manager Critical Power Philadelphia PA
This job opportunity is with a market leader of Critical Power Solutions and Services in the nation. This company provides data center power solutions that customfit to the requirements of their clients missioncritical facilities. They offer Third Party Purchases Installs Corrective and Preventive Maintenance of Mission Critical Power Equipment such as: Switchgear Batteries UPS and Generator Maintenance & Repair Services Turnkey Electrical Solutions DC Plant Services and Battery Services. They provide reliability and uptime of missioncritical facilities for many of the worlds largest organizations and government facilities including Enterprise Data Centers Colocation Providers and Hyperscale Companies.
The Field Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of assigned projects serving as the principal point of contact for customers. This role involves managing electrical equipment projects and will ensure smooth transitions from quoting implementation testing and commissioning to customer acceptance. This position may involve supervising a small team of direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and update project schedules for assigned projects
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to define project scope and ensure completeness
- Primary Point of Contact between the company and its customers
- Attend prebid and bining meetings as necessary and conduct site walks for quoting the job
- Review customer specs drawings and bid documents; issue change orders as needed
- Partner with customer service teams throughout the project
- Develop and enforce project safety plans in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Monitor project costs margins and gross profit reporting financial performance to management
- Review bill of materials and statements of work (SOW).
- Provide onsite supervision during installation and project activities
- Manage / track schedule in conjunction with forecasted plans
- Work with suppliers to optimize material and service margins
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive advantage
- Collaborate with sales teams for joint calls and coaching opportunities
- Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain accurate project documentation including asbuilt records and punch lists
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management a huge plus
- Previous experience working in field service project management and/or proposal generation experience in critical power systems
- Minimum of 3 6 years of experience working with Power Systems / Battery storage systems
- UPS experience working with: Emerson / Liebert / Vertiv ; APC / MGE / Schneider Eaton / Powerware / PDI etc. a plus
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in power and/or mechanical applications (PMP certification preferred)
- Knowledge of standards: IEEE NERC / FERC NESC NEC ANSI and or NETA
- Indepth knowledge of Power Systems / energy storage technologies to be able to provide solutions to customers: what products to recommend product / solution limitations as well as market trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel Outlook Word Teams PowerPoint; ERP Procore etc.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fastpaced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills verbal written presentation and customer service
- Strong problemsolving skills organizational skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic and fastpaced work environments
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy nukes EMN ETN MMNs Seabees Army Power Generation Air Force Power Production Generator Techs Maritime Coast Guard etc.
