Job Description Role Responsibilities
On behalf of our client within the Federal Government we are recruiting for a Senior QA Specialist/AnalysttoworkontestingofBI Reports and Data client has recently migrated the BI environment from Cognos to Power BI/Microsoft BI stack and this role will be focused on testing/QA to validate functionality of reporting systems data accuracy and business alignment.
The required Quality Assurance and Testing work will include:
Testplanningandcoordinationincludingthecreationanddocumentationoftestplans;test scenarios test scripts test summary reports and other documents as required;
Conductingfunctionalperformanceandaccessibilitytestingofapplications;
Managementandmonitoringoftestplansforalllevelsoftesting;
Managementofwalkthroughsandreviewsrelatedtotestingandimplementationreadiness;
Establishingsoftwaretestingproceduresforintegrationtestingandregressiontesting;
Establishing and operating interoperability testing procedures to ensure that the interaction and coexistence of various software elements which are proposed to be distributed on the commoninfrastructureconformtoappropriatedepartmentalstandards( compatibility etc. and have no unforeseen detrimental effects on the shared infrastructure;
Establishingavalidationandverificationcapabilitywhichassumesfunctionalandperformancecompliance;
CapturingandcommunicatingtestresultsasrequestedbytheProjectAuthority( Devops Test status and summary reports wiki and SharePoint documentation etc.; and
Statusreporting.
Technical Training or Experience:
PlanningandconductingQuality assurance andtestingactivities for BI/Reporting systems and dataassetsincludingexperienceconductingeachofthefollowingtasks:
o organizingandschedulingtestingeffortsincludingtherequiredtestingresources;
o executingsystemintegrationtests;
o executingspecializedtests;and
o executinguseracceptancetests.
Experiencewith:
o SharePointOnline
o PowerBIService
o MicrosoftData&AnalyticsStack
o PowerBIDesktop
o AzureSynapseAnalyticsWorkspaces
o AzureMachineLearningWorkspaces
o AzureDataLakeStorageGen2
Lived Experience:
The role will have a close relationship with the Indigenous Community in Canada and for Government of Canada positions that are part of the PSIBProcurement Strategy for Indigenous Business or IPPIndigenous Participation Plans. Candidates will be required to attest to their Indigenous Citizenship/Membership and provide verification through documentation.
