The Department of Environmental Sciences DES at Rutgers the State University of New Jersey New Brunswick NJ invites applications for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor as part of the new faculty cluster: Advancing STEM Diversity in Environmental Engineering Urban Environments Health Climate Change and Environmental Justice The cluster is supported by the Faculty Diversity Hiring Initiative from the Office of the President. As part of this initiative an Assistant Professor is sought in the general area of Environmental Informatics with a focus on the use of sensorenabled systems and/or the overlap in environmental health and justice impacts from shifts in the urban environment caused by climate change. This is an academic year appointment. Applicants are sought to 1 develop an innovative vigorous and externallyfunded research program 2 teach courses in Environmental Fate and Transport Environmental Modeling Engineered Soils Urban Subsurface Ecology Environmental Informatics Circular Economy or other courses in our ABET accredited Environmental Engineering program and Environmental Science program and graduate courses relevant to their research interests; and 3 engage with environmental justice community groups.
