Responsibilities:
Housed on the Mercer University Atlanta campus the Faculty and Coordinator of Counseling Clinical Placements will have primary administrative responsibilities serving as clinical coordinator. This is a 12month position and is focused on delivering highquality academic and clinical training for counseling students.
The Coordinator will be responsible for teaching five 5 courses per calendar year (Fall Spring and Summer) managing clinical placements for counseling practicum and internship students maintaining compliance with CACREP accreditation standards and fostering partnerships with practicum and internship sites. The successful candidate will work closely with program coordinators faculty supervisors and site supervisors to ensure a seamless and enriching clinical experience for students.
Duties:
Teaching
Teach five 5 courses per calendar year (Fall Spring Summer) in the CACREPaccredited counseling programs.
Develop and deliver engaging studentcentered courses in various modalities including inperson hybrid and online as needed.
Foster critical thinking and professional skill development in students through innovative instructional techniques and experiential learning.
Participate in faculty department and program meetings as well as student interviews and other institutional events to contribute to the academic community and uphold departmental objective.
Coordination of Clinical Placements
Collaborate with faculty supervisors and program coordinators on practicum and internship placements for students.
Approve and evaluate clinical sites to ensure compliance with CACREP standards and state licensure requirements.
Develop and maintain partnerships with practicum and internship sites ensuring robust opportunities for student placements. This may require some travel to placement sites.
Train and orient students and site supervisors to clinical placement policies procedures and evaluation tools.
Work with University General Counsel to ensure contracts MOUs and policies are in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
Utilize Supervision Assist clinical placement software to manage and monitor placements and evaluations.
Communicate regularly with students faculty and site supervisors to address concerns provide support and ensure quality field experiences.
Assist with remedial issues associated with clinical placements in partnership with program coordinators and faculty.
Assist in writing and publishing clinical placement manuals policies and procedures to align with university accreditation and licensing standards.
Collect analyze and report data related to clinical placements and student outcomes for accreditation purposes.
Serve on departmental and programmatic advisory boards.

Qualifications:
Required
Earned doctoral degree from a CACREPaccredited program in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia.
Certification as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) or equivalent.
Demonstrated understanding of CACREP standards and state licensure requirements for clinical training in counseling.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Strong technical analytical and reporting skills
Preferred
At least two years of clinical experience in professional counseling or a related field.
Experience in teaching and academic leadership particularly in counselor education.
Experience with clinical placement software and technology for tracking and reporting; specifically familiarity with Supervision Assist or similar clinical management software.
