Position Overview:

The Client Service Specialist (CSS) supports both clinical and nonclinical services by coordinating all aspects of the medical clinic through front desk operations. This position supports the Clinical Health Services (CHS) Program locations by answering phones scheduling appointments supporting clinic flow and providing daytoday service to the public seeking services. The CSS ensures compliance with all Harris County Public Health (HCPH) policies and procedures supporting clinic operations. The CSS reports to the Clinical Health Services (CHS) Program Manager and serves Harris County communities by supporting the medical team in providing comprehensive care to patients in a clinic setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Interview clients to collect required information for eligibility determination using grant and payor guidelines.
  • Manage administrative duties such as reception appointments and telephone calls.
  • Support the coordination of scheduling patients to receive services from multidisciplinary team members ensuring optimal time management for clinic operations. Handle minor cash responsibilities including collecting copays.
  • Ensure compliance with medical record policies and procedures including patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
  • Complete service activity reports client revenue reports client satisfaction surveys and other periodic reports as required.
  • Participate in the transportation of program supplies to and from event locations adhering to county vehicle operation policies.
  • Maintain inventory by ensuring office supplies are always in stock and ordering as needed.
