Title: Head of Life Science Chemistry R&D
Job Description: Responsible to promote idea generation technology evaluation and collaboration opportunities across multiple functions with strong alignment with Product Managementto identify next generation technologies (shortterm and longterm) from the external scientific communities and to advise Executive Leadership on recommendations for new market opportunities and technology solutions that could produce significant revenue for the Business Unit.Responsible to lead the identification sourcing and development of advanced or application technologies scientific principles theories and concepts that foster product development opportunities that provide customer solutions.Responsible for Product Development and Innovation for the Research Solutions LSC business.Responsible to evaluate and define specific responses to new technologies that differentiate or improve efficiencies disruptive technologies or competitive threats across the organization and to contribution to the development implementation and protection of intellectual property.Responsible to design and execute the inlicensing and OEM strategyResponsible to align Research and Engineering Development resources with business objectives and priorities to ensure project and team output effectively facilitates product launch logistics (ontime on budget etc..Responsible to ensure talent is capable and motivated to implement the Research Solutions strategy through workforce planning talent management and development and to mentor and develop internal talents to strengthen effectiveness.
Qualifications:
8 years of successful leadership in developing and managing Research & Engineering Development organizations.
5 years of demonstrated success in leading teams in interpreting technology and market trends in related sectors including: Pharma Academia Clinical Diagnostics and Industrial Testing
PhD or advanced degree in Life Science related field or Pharmaceutical Science preferred.
Experience in managing collaborative relationships and strategic alliances (strongly preferred)
Business knowledge of the companies products strategy commercial & innovation processes
Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps.
Proven track record of working within related industry sectors including: Phama Academia Clinical Diagnostics and Industrial Testing
Strong and timely results orientation and collaborative strategy setting with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to build a leadership pipeline including attracting retaining and developing talent.
Demonstrated success in inspiring global teams and driving them toward a common goal preferably within a virtual environment
Demonstrated openness and selfawareness in selfimprovement opportunities and commitment to continuously improve individual performance and impact
