TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8000 students located in Laredo Texas a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery teaching and learning community engagement and public service and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. Primary duties will includeteaching undergraduate and graduate courses and serving on departmental university professional and community committees. Duties also includemaintaining an active research agenda and mentoring students in research. This position requires facetoface interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
The Department of Psychology and Communication consists of 11 fulltime Psychology faculty who actively engage in teaching and research in the areas of counseling forensic social evolutionary human memory language processing and bilingualism and neuropsychology.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold adoctorate in Developmental Psychology or closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered but must have earned the doctorate before appointment. We seek candidates with research focusing on all areas of Developmental Psychology. We strongly encourage candidates with research agenda that closely aligns with bilingual and multilingual communities and candidates with a strong record of or potential for sustained publications..
