Propane Sales Specialist

of the Position: The Propane Sales Specialist is responsible for supporting the companys sales goals specifically related to Propane Sales Growth. They will work directly with the sales department at all locations to develop new business opportunities maintain relationships with existing customers and drive sales growth in the Propane sector. Following the companys sales process and providing great customer service they are to develop and maintain high quality relationships with our customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with commercial and industrial customers to promote propane sales
  • ID and pursue new business opportunities within the propane gas market
  • Provide customers with information on propane products services and safety guidelines
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations tailored to customer needs
  • Negotiate product supply agreements and pricing to close sales while ensuring profitability.
  • Work closely with operations and logistics team to ensure timely delivery and service
  • Stay abreast of market conditions regarding propane industry trends regulations and safety standards
  • Utilize company Pipeline document to track propane sales opportunities
  • Follow and execute the Track Selling Process utilizing the Value Proposition Tool
  • Communicate and cultivate the Core Values of OSC internally and externally
  • Attend and participate in biweekly L10 meetings

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Education Experience and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Associates Degree or Certificate in business related field is a plus
  • 5 years experience in sales for industrial medical or specialty gases preferred
  • Valid Class D Drivers License
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP Software
  • Ability to work alone influence people in opinions attitudes and judgements
  • Must be organized and have good time management with the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate professionalism superior people skills strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player with the ability to communicate with all levels within an organization

Equipment Used:
  • Company provided equipment such as vehicles telephones and computer/laptop. Hand/Power tools; hand cart; 2 wheel dollies. Office equipment and computer programs such as Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and ERP Software.
  • Safety gear such as safety glasses hard hat welding gear etc. when needed.

Job Specifications/Requirements:
Ability to stand on your feet 56 hours per day with lots of walking twisting bending reaching lifting/carrying grasping and repetitive motions. Travel 80 of their day in the field with the opportunity to be home every night. Occasional lifting of 45lbs is required may at times lift up to 75lbs. Occasional pushing/pulling of 25lbs up to 75lbs may happen. When on call must be available 24 hours a day to handle customer emergency phone calls. Ability to work in moderately warm or cold conditions where high noise levels are possible
