Job Description
Innovator in Advanced Communications Solutions is seeking a Direct hire Senior Buyer.
Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of box build solutions as well as PCBAs ensuring the ideal balance of cost quality and timely delivery. This role involves sourcing proposing suppliers and participating in its evaluation and qualification managing open orders and inventory levels at contractors for manufacturing.
The Senior Buyer will also be key in streamlining procurement processes developing and foster supplier partnerships ensuring a consistent supply chain and driving cost reductions to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
*Have comprehensive knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Bill of Materials (BOM) Inventory Management Demand Forecasting Reporting Analytics. Working knowledge of Infor Syteline ERP system is desirable
*Purchase raw materials subassemblies fabricated and machined parts based on data. Based on consumption patterns demand forecasts and pull system requirements.
Maintain uptodate knowledge of supplier information and performance data; respond to price increases with the goal to negate or minimize all increases
*Negotiate competitive pricing for materials while ensuring quality and timely delivery requirements are met. Establish strong working relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and partnership.
Collaborate with Production to track material status and align with production schedules to meet customer demand.
*Assist the NPI team on sourcing specific devices.
Required Skills/Abilities
*Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management with a focus on sourcing to improve cost and overall quality lead times and planned inventory at suppliers
*Bachelors degree in supply chain management material management manufacturing or similar discipline preferred
*Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment high mix low volume enterprise
*LEAN methodology practitioner including the ability to identify and eliminate waste streamline processes and drive continuous improvement in procurement and inventory management.
*Commercially and financially astute with a strong understanding of cost control and best practices.
*Communicates in a professional manner and works with other functions effectively such as Manufacturing Sales Engineering Accounting.
*Excellent planning organizational and demonstrated negotiation skills to effectively manage purchasing activities.
*Proven track record in managing suppliers relationships and driving costsaving initiatives.
*Ability to analyze market conditions supplier performance and procurement data to make recommend actions with information decisions.
*Ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and develop/recommend/implement solutions
*Proven ability to resolve problems independently and take appropriate action in a timely manner
*Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Syteline experience a plus.
*Demonstrates successfully prioritizing and planning multiple/conflicting priorities and demands.
