The Adult and Child Wellbeing Worker is responsible for providing oneonone or groupbased wellbeing services to adults and children using a strengths based approach with children and families through traumainformed and culturally responsive healing and wellbeing programs. Support can be provided directly to adults or to children in conjunction with support and programs for their parents.
This position has a particular focus on supporting adults and children through the Safe Houses and in order for the program to meet its objectives.
The preferred location for this position is communitybased with placements in either Milikapiti or Daly River. Consideration may be given to Darwinbased applicants where communitybased placement is not feasible.
Subsidised shared accommodation is available in Daly River; however private accommodation would be required in Milikapiti and Darwin.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including report writing case note writing and knowledge of Trauma and DFSV Informed Practice
Demonstrated cultural competency particularly in working with Indigenous people in both urban and remote communities
Proven experience working with children who have experienced trauma or violence and an understanding of child advocacy and rights
Experience in working with Domestic and Family Sexual violence victim/survivors
