Bioproduction supports developers and manufacturers of biologicalbased therapeutics and vaccines with a portfolio of premium solutions and services focused on upstream cell culture downstream purification analytics for detection and quantitation of process/product impurities and a suite of singleuse solutions spanning the biologics workflow. Bioproduction is also at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with and influences FAS & TSS teams in SA to develop and manage account growth strategies within the region. Be the technical interface for our Bioproduction products & technologies to potential and existing clients.
Liaison with the sales team for technical discussion with customers & senior executives and influence them for orders understand their work and suggest suitable applications based on our product portfolio.
Coordinating with the Regional Market Development Global Business Units/Divisions to implement training activities and workshops on the application and capabilities of our products.
Partner with commercial teams for customer surveys inquiries and product briefs collaborating and making recommendations to clients on potential process improvements through utilization of our technologies and concepts.
Identify beta test sites in coordination with product management and SA TSS/FAS.
Leads a team of technical specialists. Coaches & Mentors team members to drive and deliver assigned business targets. Responsible to ensure a healthy talent pipeline within the team.
Coordinate the support for the Commercial Sales activities in product troubleshooting and complaint handling activities. Provide necessary data and feedback to Sales Support Product Management Quality Assurance Engineering and R&D as appropriate.
Collaborates with regional teams to build effective shared technical resource to enhance inregional selfsufficiency.
Stays updated with current scientific literature and shares knowledge of latest competing technologies and products.
Gives to Thermo Fisher regional SME (Subject matter expert) and SPOG (Single point of contact) networks. Build Key Opinion leaders list to enhance scientific approaches to the market
Participates actively in external technical conferences and industry body forums. Actively reaching out and establishing relationships with SA/Asia Pacific regional Key Opinion Leaders.
Delivering impactful Bioproduction product technical presentations (at customer sites international scientific conferences and webinars) to complement the sales teams commercial sales activities. Adjust global presentation contents to suit SA market. Establishes and establishes links with key decisionmakers identifying the technical buyers.
Make regular client calls with local sales Account Managers and TSS/FAS and ensure followups for high commercial impact opportunities.
Participate in scientific application development of whitepapers and troubleshooting activities
Promoting the Employers image and product reputation and position Thermo Fisher Scientific capabilities
Educational Qualifications & Experience:
15 years of experience in the biologics industry with an M.S. or Ph.D. in life sciences biology or a related field.
In depth knowledge of Pharmaceutical /Bio Pharmaceutical workflows that contribute to growth drivers in the sector.
Technical expertise in R&D or process development; prior commercial experience is a plus.
Strong people leadership skills and the ability to manage within a matrixed environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and conflicting goals.
Businesslevel proficiency in English (verbal/written) and proficiency in Excel and presentation skills.
Independent proactive and able to work in a matrix environment.
Willingness to travel as required.
Selfmotivated teamoriented collaborative and skilled in working in a matrixed and cross functional environment
Good interpersonal skills (oral and written)
