DEQ has an open opportunity for an Electronics Technician II(Flexible/Hybrid).
It is fulltime 40 hours per week) withState Benefits.
The positions currently qualify for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be selfmotivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.
The Electronics Technician II position will maintain and repair complex electronic devices and systems including the modification and installation of electronic devices and systems. The position maintains specialized electronic devices and systems including but not limited to ambient air samplers mass flow controllers flow meters pressure sensors vacuum gauges and temperature sensors. The position may modify standard electronic circuitry to perform special new or unusual functions. The position may consult with device and system manufacturers and staff to ensure the electronic systems and devices are operating according to the project parameters. Maintenance and repair are performed on electronic devices and systems where troubleshooting difficulties are compounded by complex devices and systems which are interconnected and often lack documentation in the form of schematic diagrams wring diagrams or repair manuals. Work is evaluated through the operational status of the electronic devices systems analysis of equipment reliability documentation of records and data and effective communication.
The mission of the Division of Water Infrastructure (Division) is to effectively manage the state and Federal funding programs it administers and to assist eligible applicants in meeting drinking water stormwater and wastewater needs to protect public health and the states water resources. The Division administers multiple loan and grant programs including all programs within the Water Infrastructure Fund as described in GS 159G. These programs must be operated consistent with federal and state requirements. The Division supports the State Water Infrastructure Authority which awards the federal and state funding available for planning and construction of drinking water wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects. All funding programs are statewide. Funded projects may include a wide range of water infrastructure types including potable water lines potable water treatment plants wastewater collection lines (sanitary sewers) reclaimed water facilities wastewater treatment plants stormwater facilities stream restoration projects etc. that require a variety of technical disciplines to review.
