About KOTA/KEVN:
KOTA and KEVN are the ABC and FOX affiliates in Rapid City at the base of the beautiful Black Hills delivering news under the KOTA Territory brand. KOTA and KEVN are the market leaders for local news sports and weather with a stateoftheart facility. Both stations cover the Black Hills of South Dakota as well as parts of eastern Wyoming. Our team produces seven newscasts Monday through Friday and six newscasts on the weekends.
KOTA & KEVN are located in Rapid City SD television DMA Market 170 a community of approximately 100000 television HH.

KOTA Territory News is looking for a fulltime producer. Come work in our stateoftheart studio in the beautiful Black Hills!
Our ideal candidate is a leader with solid news judgment intelligence and energy plus a creative vision for what it takes to produce engaging newscasts.
The producer creates the newscast rundown writes stories builds graphics coordinates with field crews and communicates with everyone involved in the daily newscast.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. Solid news judgment and the ability to multitask are essential. You should be calm under pressure. The ideal candidate would be social media and techsavvy. You must be a team player with a great attitude and be available to work various schedules as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
Preview news material before airing. Writes edits and research show elements.
Prepares interview segments.
Coordinates breaking stories.
Select graphics and preproduction elements.
Proofreads scripts.
Coordinates breaking news and executes show in the control room.
Edits video as necessary.
Collaborates with executive producer reporters assignment desk and photographers to determine the content of broadcasts.
Participates in story planning meetings.
Times the show while on air; meets all requirements of commercial content and offtimes.
Conceptualizes innovative graphic and preproduction elements.
Monitors and works to constantly improve and evolve the look and of newscasts.
Coordinates with the creative services department to develop effective promotions for upcoming shows newscasts and events.
Assists the assignment desk and edits as necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Must possess an advanced understanding of newscast presentation.
Must possess excellent writing and graphics skills with the ability to provide an interesting and substantive product.
Must be resultsoriented.
Ability to focus on coordination of daily and longrange segments from first contact to onair products.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure.
