Details of Research Project: The postdoctoral researcher will work under the guidance of Dr. Petralia
on the development of advanced statistical and computational methods for analyzing and interpreting
largescale datasets from genomic epigenomic and proteomics technologies. The postdoc will be
responsible for analyzing multiple datasets derived from various genomic technologies including
singlecell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics. In addition the candidate will collaborate closely
with Dr. Ungaro to apply these sophisticated statistical tools in studying inflammatory bowel disease
with the aim of identifying pathways that contribute to disease initiation and progression.
Technical Duties:
Develop and validate statistical and computational methods for analyzing largescale genomic
data.
Analyze multiple datasets derived from various genomic technologies including singlecell
sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.
Apply the developed methods to investigate inflammatory bowel disease.
Educational and other Requirements for the position: PhD in computational biology statistics or similar
field
Experience Required: Prior experience in the analysis of bulk and singlecell sequencing data using
various computational tools.
Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: Development/validation of new computational methods and
analysis of largescale genomics data to improve our understanding of different diseases.
