Job Description

We are looking for a motivated resultsoriented inventive Software Development Engineer to help a driven and supportive team build out the data engineering analytics and intelligence infrastructure necessary to drive observability for Amazon retail network traffic.
The ideal candidate will understand big data processing techniques and serviceoriented architecture and help the business innovate at scale.
Key job responsibilities
* 3 years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
* 4 years of noninternship professional software development experience
* Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
Strong Computer Science and development fundamentals including objectoriented design data structures algorithm design and complexity analysis.
Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations.
Experience building largescale software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
Handson expertise in many disparate technologies typically ranging from frontend user interfaces through to backend software systems and all points in between.
4 years of noninternship professional software development experience
3 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
4 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
3 years of big data technologies such as AWS Hadoop Spark Pig Hive Lucene/SOLR or Storm/Samza experience
4 years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design experience
* Experience with AWS
* Knowledge of Networking

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
