Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the dietitian the Diet Clerk provides clinical support by ensuring accurate therapeutic menu selections and proper tray temperatures for patients.
- Assists patients with menu selections
- Prepares late trays ensuring correct diet presentation and timely delivery
- Schedules nourishments according to meal patterns
- Updates patient diet information in the system
- Verifies menu accuracy using a computer system.
- Monitors food temperatures before trayline and addresses any issues.
- Manages clerical duties such as meal statistics and meal recording.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- AA degree in Food Science/Nutrition preferred.
- One 1 year of healthcare experience working with modified diets preferred
County Specific requirement.
- County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current
