Lead Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician
Overview
Great Lakes Service is on the lookout for a Lead Technician to join our Commercial Refrigeration Service department. This role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing ice machines walkin/reachin coolers and freezers. The ideal candidate will also mentor and train less experienced technicians particularly in wiring and basic refrigeration service tasks. If you are a proactive technician with strong leadership skills we have a place for you on our team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install troubleshoot diagnose and repair commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Treat customers and colleagues with respect courtesy and professionalism.
- Complete service calls promptly.
- Communicate effectively with customers managers dispatchers and sales teams.
- Participate in the regular rotation of afterhours and weekend oncall schedules.
- Identify potential new customers and additional opportunities within existing accounts.
- Maintain the service vehicle in good condition.
- Order necessary parts and complete required paperwork.
- Attend training sessions to stay updated on industry practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience in servicing refrigeration equipment.
- Proficient in working with ice machines walkin/reachin coolers and freezers.
- Strong skills in electrical electronic and mechanical systems.
- Excellent customer communication abilities.
- A strong commitment to hard work punctuality and organization.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Hold a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience with reachin and walkin coolers and freezers.
- CFESA certification and relevant training.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Proficient in computer use.
