Position is located in New York City.
Reporting to the Director Risk Oversight the Manager is accountable for providing a clear detailed and independent analysis of the Securitized Products market risks. The role requires a close working relationship with various Securitized Products businesses Market Risk Analytics team Market Risk Operations team Market Risk Technology team Market Risk Data team Market Risk Models team Market Risk Model Validation team and the Valuation Product Control Group to ensure complete and accurate quantification of market risks are identified and communicated to Senior Management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure that the market risks are well understood articulated and communicated to senior management.
- Monitor the portfolios against the current market environment model outputs and desk exposures; report on changes to the portfolio and the impact these changes will have on existing risk reporting.
- Recommend risk limits. Develop publish issue and update the limits under which various businesses operate. Ensure appropriate risk controls are in place to manage and limit tail risks.
- In conjunction with the businesses provide analysis and recommendations to the Director Risk Oversight to facilitate concurrence (when deemed appropriate) on limit excesses. Work with the businesses to ensure any breaches of approved limits are properly escalated approved and documented.
- Work with the businesses to approve or recommend oneoff transactions or full implementation of new trading products and strategies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of securitized products markets.
- Familiarity with key market risk concepts including VaR SVaR Stress Testing Profit Attribution Analysis and various backtesting methodologies.
- Excellent understanding of global financial markets and products.
- At least 4 years of experience within the market risk field preferably at a large North American bank.
Skills:
- Ability to manage workflow and deadlines on simultaneous tasks.
- Advanced analytical and proven problemsolving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent ability to work with analytical models tools and technologies such as Excel Bloomberg Python SQL YieldBook ADCO etc.
Salary:
$94300.00 $174900.00Pay Type:
SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Groups pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
