Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics the Assistant Baseball Coach will assist the head coach in recruiting qualified studentathletes to the program instruct and develop the studentathlete in the sport of baseball game preparation and community involvement. Instruction should include but not limited to the rules strategies and techniques relating to practice and competition in this sport. The assistant coach provides administrative support to the Colleges NCAA Division III program. The assistant coach will also support the mission and goals of the Athletic Department.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree required and proven successful coaching with 23 years experience preferred preferably at the collegiate level.

Technology Skills
Proficient in MS Office tools (Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint) email and Internet. Ability to learn new applications quickly including organizationwide information systems and departmentspecific software applications.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively provide information and positively respond to questions from both external and internal customers both in person and by phone. Ability to develop marketing or promotion materials. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students parents or others.
Mathematical Skills
Proficient with statistical and financial concepts. Must have the ability to apply those concepts to tracking projections goal setting and interpreting reports. Must be able to draw conclusions from reports and make costeffective decisions regarding programs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to work independently and as a member of a group in developing and executing project plans. Ability to work in the theoretical arena and apply logic as appropriate.
Compensation
The compensation for this position consists of a $2250 stipend for the Spring 2025 semester. This temporary position is not benefitseligible except for paid Maryland sick leave. Learn more about Hood College.
