The Maryland Department ofAgriculture is a department under Marylands Executive Branch. These programs have a directand indirect financial impact on farmers and producers and affect the way theysell their products and develop new buyers.

This position provides project management and administrative support to MDAs Agriculture and Seafood Marketing programs ensuringeffective promotion of Marylandgrown and harvested products. By tracking key deadlines and compiling essential materials this role helps execute initiatives like Marylands Best International Marketingand the Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Itplays a vital part in maintaining organized records assisting with marketing outreach and supporting grantadministration all of whichcontribute to MDAs mission of strengthening Marylands agricultural andseafood industries.
Additionally this position manages vendor relations formarketing materials overseeing sourcing pricing and production to ensure quality and timelydelivery. It also maintainsdigital assets campaign lists and communication tools while assisting in the creation of promotional content. Throughefficient coordination and organizational support this role enhances MDAsability to connect consumers with local producers expand market opportunities and sustain Marylands farming and seafood sectors.
Support MDAs Agriculture and Seafood Marketingprograms including:
Managing project timelines by gathering key dates milestones and deadlines from stakeholders. Plan and schedule project timelines while proactively driving and communicating deadlines to ensurecompliance.
Compile and organizemeeting notes as neededfor project teams. Provide administrative support to the Chief of Marketing and entire Marketing programstaff. Answer incoming calls to themain public line retrieve voicemails and direct constituents to appropriate staff.
Maintain project files receiveand distribute mail and assistwith meetings conferences and seminars. Prepare purchaseorders verify and process invoicesfor payment and maintain payment logs.
Obtain bids and prepare source documents for Marylands Best Seafood Marketing Specialty Crop BlockGrant Certified Local Farm EnterpriseProgram MFARM program and international marketing.
Maintain and update marketing assets contacts and campaignlists using Google Drive ConstantContact and other platforms. Assist in creatingmarketing materials including newsletters flyers and social mediaimages.
Support the grant administrator with organization creative inputand communication with grantees institutions and stakeholders.
All other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduation froman accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalencycertificate.
Experience: Two years ofexperience performing administrative staff clerical clerical technical orsecretarial work.
