Job Description

Summary

This position is open to all King County Employees and the General Public.

King County Metro Transit is searching for one knowledgeable and collaborative Transit Administrative Support Specialist III(TASS III) to support our diverse workforce in Vehicle Maintenance! This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to support an operation using their organizational and administrative skills and serve as the principal administrative support for a Transit Vehicle Maintenance Base. The ideal candidate enjoys making an impact through administrative support shows initiative ishighly organized and detail-oriented acts with a sense of urgency and can prioritize tasks effectively.

This position supports supervisory staff with a wide variety of daily confidential administrative tasks and special projects. Responsibilities include processing a high volume of personnel-related documents supply ordering purchasing and reconciling p-card expenses maintaining electronic personnel records serving base employees as a primary point of contact on policies procedures and processes ensuring timely and accurate payroll and accounts payable processing providing customer service and maintaining diverse files spreadsheets and databases. Successful candidates will thrive independently with little supervision.

Note:This recruitment will fill one career service position within the Vehicle Maintenance Division. An eligibility list may be created to fill future career service opportunities in this classification and workgroup that may become available within 12 months of the lists creation. If created the list would be utilized at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills

Eligible candidates must have three years (3)of increasingly responsible office or administrative support experience; including two (2) years of independent administrative responsibility for a group or team of professional technical or management staff OR an equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills knowledge and ability required to perform the work.

Work Schedule
The work schedule is day shift Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm. This position is subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.

Work Location
Work is performed 100% on-site at Bellevue Base (th Ave. NE Bellevue WA 98005)
The vacant position we are recruiting for is assigned to Bellevue Base but applicants should be willing to work at any base location if hired from the eligibility list at a later date.
