Job Description
ST. MARK Catholic School is searching for a fulltime Instructional Assistant for our Resource/Special Education candidates will have a Bachelors degree an interest in teaching students with various learning abilities and challenges and a desire to work for a Catholic school.
ST. MARKis a midsized Catholic preschool through grade 8 school in Vienna Virginia. We have two classes per grade from Kindergarten through grade 8 with an average of 2024 students per class. Grade level and content area teachers work closely to provide a challenging and supportive educational experience for students. As an Instructional Assistant you will be an important part of the Student Support Services team and will assist with providing inclass support and small group instruction to K8 students with a variety of learning challenges. You will collaborate with classroom teachers to help differentiate modify and support existing curriculum and assist with testing accommodations.
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Strong proponent of inclusion
- Comfortable providing inclass support and pullout instruction for small groups
- Able to collaborate with general education and special education teachers
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Experience as a special education aide or similar role preferred
- Experience working with children with a wide range of abilities
- Enjoy working with youth and a desire to help students grow in faith knowledge and service
