About the job CEO European Digital Bank (m/f/d)
A European digital bank with full regulatory licensing is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) (m/f/d) to lead the organization into its next phase of innovation and growth. Operating at the crossroads of banking and technology the bank delivers APIfirst infrastructure and embedded financial solutions to business partners across Europe.
With a strong foundation in compliance and digital capability the bank is looking for a leader who can drive strategic transformation scale operations and position the organization as a trusted enabler of nextgeneration financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a forwardlooking strategy to strengthen the banks position within the European fintech ecosystem
- Lead the digital transformation journey focusing on scalable APIbased banking services and product innovation
- Ensure full regulatory compliance while maintaining operational efficiency and agility
- Serve as the primary representative to supervisory authorities key partners investors and the board
- Champion a culture of innovation accountability and continuous improvement across all levels
- Expand strategic partnerships and drive longterm business development
- Oversee risk management frameworks and governance in alignment with European banking standards
- Manage crisis scenarios effectively ensuring institutional stability and reputation
Key Requirements
- At least 15 years of leadership experience in banking fintech or financial infrastructure
- Experience at CEO or Clevel (or one level below) with a proven record in strategic and operational transformation
- Deep knowledge of digital banking embedded finance and platformbased business models
- Strong familiarity with European regulatory environments (e.g. BaFin ECB PSD2
- Demonstrated success in managing change building highperforming teams and scaling financial operations
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to lead in dynamic fastmoving environments
- Fluent in English; German is highly advantageous
