Job Description
If you are a current Substitute Instructional Assistant in our district you do not need to complete this application. You will need to complete the annual required trainings and submit your training transcript to Human Resources.
After completing the Instructional Assistant application you will be contacted by the department of Human Resources once your application has been reviewed.
Under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher the substitute instructional assistant will supervisestudents during the recess period in the classroom and perform other duties as assigned. Possible assignments could include oneonone student assistance Special Education classrooms orgeneral education classrooms for students Kindergarten through 12th grade. Duties are at all schools in the District and assignments may be different each day.
Applicantswill be required to be fingerprinted andcomplete acriminal records check as well as:
- Preferred but not required: Seventy two 72 credit hoursof post high school studies earned an Associates Degreeor higher or passed the National Career Readiness test.
- Experience working with schoolage students preferred but not required.
- The ability to work harmoniously with teachers students and other staff.
- Be able to take direction appropriately changing tasks as necessary.
- Bilingual applicants desired but not required.
- Be dependable and flexible with schedule.
