Job Description

General Summary:

  • Is responsible for the management of inquiries from referrers potential patients and their families seeking access to care.
  • Participates with program leadership team in the approval of admissions and coordinates the details of the entire admissions process.
  • Maintains electronic files to facilitate program communication and to provide input to other departments.
  • Work requires flexibility in schedule to be oncall for admissions take referral calls on weekends as needed and rotate weekend coverage with other Admissions Coordinators.
  • Responsible for helping to crosscover other Specialty Admissions programs which include but are not limited to: The Retreat Comprehensive Outpatient Psychiatric Evaluation Service LifeLaunch Center for Eating Disorders Trauma Disorders Unit and outpatient services for The Center for OCD and Anxiety.
  • Responsible for other tasks and responsibilities as assigned for Specialty Admissions.

Requires:

  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Work requires clinical expertise in admissions intake assessment and/or concierge customer service. Acquired through 23 years of relevant experience.
      • Experience with behavioral healthcare is strongly preferred.

    • Requires bachelors degree in psychology counseling social work or a related field.
    • Work requires a current Maryland Drivers license at time of appointment.
    • Work requires interpersonal skills sufficient to represent programs professionally. Requires ability to effectively interact with patients family members and referrers in addition to representing the hospital to outsiders.
    • Work requires analytic ability to assess and triage patients for admission.
    • Work requires a high level of organization and attention to detail to help ensure a smooth admissions process.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to years and level of related experience.
