The White River School in Hartford VT seeks an expert teacher to serve as a special educator. We are a PreK5 school in downtown White River Junction and part of the Hartford School District. Special educators play an important role within our school community. In addition to providing specialized instruction and serving as case managers for students with disabilities they serve as collaborators and access specialists on gradelevel teams. Special educators partner with related service providers and oversee paraprofessional staff. Through ongoing teaming with classroom teachers special educators build and implement instructional strategies at the universal ideal candidate will have significant skills and knowledge related to effective instruction and assessment particularly in reading writing and math as well as the ability to design and implement intensivelevel interventions and specialized instruction. Experience using evidencebased diagnostic tools and programs such as Orton Gillingham is preferred. Candidates should have a strong background in trauma informed practices and socialemotional learning.
