Job Description
We are excited to announce an exciting opportunity for a Researcher Position in the laboratory of Dr. Alyssa Kennedys Lab in the Center of Excellence for Leukemia Studies (CELS) at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about cancer research particularly those interested in identifying the genetic components that drive bone marrow failure syndromes as well as understanding the biology behind what causes some children with these disorders to develop cancer.
Our goal is to identify genetic biomarkers for patients with bone marrow failure that can be used to indicate an increased risk of malignancy and develop the next generation of therapeutics that can be used to treat these children before they develop cancer.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs laboratory experiments as directed using specific and prescribed techniques/protocols.
Follows basic protocols implements experimental techniques prescribed by the supervisor and provides basic troubleshooting where appropriate.
Accurately records experimental procedures and data.
May draft results/data for posters presentations or publications
Operates lab equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education:
Bachelors degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.
GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
No prior experience is required.
Experience in molecular biology and cell culture is highly preferred.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $24.00 $42.00 per hour for the role of Researcher Kennedy Lab.Explore our exceptional benefits!
