  • Part time 0.6FTE) fixed term role (parental leave replacement) until 27 April 2026
  • Geelong office location with flexible hybrid working
  • Offering a competitive starting base salary of $94756 plus super and benefits full time equivalent

About the role

The Information & Privacy Officer provides advice and responds to requests related to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 the Privacy & Data Protection Act 2014 (PDPA) the Health Records Act 2001 (HRA) the Transport Accident Act 1986 (TAA) and associated legislation. This role works autonomously and requires a proactive approach to managing competing priorities and adhering to strict timelines.

About the Team

This role sits within the Government Legislation & Privacy branch of the Community division. Youll work closely with a tightknit team of Officers who value autonomy while collaborating to ensure consistent work practices. Youll be supported by the Information & Privacy Manager who fosters independent working and provides guidance on complex or challenging matters.

Proven ability to set priorities manage time effectively and meet deadlines ensuring alignment with organisational goals in a fastpaced environment.

Proactive with Sound Judgment

Experienced in making reviewable decisions within a legislative framework demonstrating initiative and the ability to apply sound judgment independently.

Working Knowledge of Legislative Requirements

Solid working knowledge of the FOI Act Privacy and Data Protection Act (PDPa) and/or Health Records Act (HRA) with handson experience in processing FOI requests.
