Our Analyst team is integral in helping the trading team make decisions. The team is passionate about stocks stock indices and the options trading environment and thrive on the process of researching and predicting how equities and derivatives will react in certain scenarios and regimes.
Were seeking someone with a strong background as an Equity Analyst to join the team preferably with experience covering Hong Kong/China equities. Your input will impact the positions we put on and the ways we manage risk around certain market events.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Share responsibility for covering a universe of approximately 100 large and midcap stocks listed in Hong Kong.
- Perform fundamental bottomup analysis on covered stocks and their peers focusing on dividends earnings macro and corporate events corporate actions and special situations.
- Generate trading ideas based on expected volatility and direction. Work closely with the options trading team to execute these strategies.
- Identify monitor and evaluate upcoming catalysts.
- Monitor and analyse daily news flow related to your coverage including corporate industry regulatory and macroeconomic developments and communicate actionable trading ideas.
Your Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of demonstrated experience working as an Equity Analyst in either sellside or buyside equity research.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal). Mandarin fluency is a plus
- Derivatives and/or structured products experience is advantageous.
- Ability to work successfully in a fastmoving highpressure and competitive environment.
- A demonstrated passion and understanding of financial markets are required.
- Comfort working with incomplete information utilizing quantitative information as available but able supplement with qualitative insight.
- Tertiary qualified. CFA is a plus.
- Bloomberg and Python experience preferred.
