SUMMARY:
The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning organizing developing and conducting a comprehensive mathematics instructional program for high school students in grades 912 which includes the development of content knowledge and skills as well as mathematical practices. Newton North offers courses in Integrated Math 1 Math 2 Math 3 Calculus Statistics Data Science and Computer Science. Full time Math teachers at Newton North teach four classes at a variety of levels and at this time are seeking applicants with diverse experiences and/or a willingness to diversify their experience.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

Use a wide variety of teaching techniques to support student learning
Design and demonstrate differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students
Implement accommodations and curricular modifications as specified in educational plans (IEPs and 504s) and as needed to meet the learning needs of students
Use a variety of formal and informal assessments to accurately measure student progress to modify further instruction and to implement appropriate intervention and support.
Consult and implement strategies from the schools BCAP (Building Curriculum Accommodation Plan) in order to provide students with appropriate supports
Use a computer and related online web applications as well as other technology to support student learning in and out of the classroom
Provide students with support (remediation and enrichment) using a variety of strategies
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum lesson and assessment design
Participate actively in faculty department and team meetings
Set professional development goals and plans participate in professional development activities that promote reflection and growth.
Communicate effectively with students colleagues parents and the community
Follow safety procedures and written and verbal instructions
Demonstrate consistency reliability and punctuality with attendance for supervision and instruction of the students and collaboration with colleagues
Use an online learning management system to post important materials/information about courses
Implement other job related duties as needed.
