Job Description
Position Overview
Teachers will guide 6th8th grade students through a STEMbased curriculum. Teachers will implement learning experiences in collaboration with the Science department and PROPEL & Level Up. Teachers will facilitate the learning of students using inquirybased learning techniques. Teachers will facilitate two 2 hour STEM courses per day for a oneweek Level Up STEM Camp. Teachers will have an opportunity to select and teach courses based on a curriculum provided and chosen by them.
Primary Responsibilities
- Promote healthy academic behaviors in children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Establish a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to learning and enables students to demonstrate agency ownership and reflection.
- Facilitate students utilizing the inquirybased learning model.
- Mentor and work with student counselors.
- Support and participate in the professional learning community to deepen the understanding of the curriculum content and competencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.
- Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Elementary Education or a STEMrelated field.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students peers administrators and parents.

Organizational Relationship
This parttime hourly position reports to the Supervisor of Science in Teaching and Learning.
Additional Details
This is a parttime nonbenefited hourly position. No guarantee of minimum hours.

Salary Level:Band Rates Band 15 $39.14/hourly
