SLC now have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Developer to join the Software Delivery team here in the wider Technology Group within SLC. As Principal Developer youll lead the delivery of cuttingedge software solutions driving SLCs mission forward with innovative cloudbased technologies and Java expertise. Youll define architectural standards shape the strategic technical direction and collaborate across teams to design impactful solutions that enable student finance services for millions. SLC offer a blended working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
What you bring:
- Degreelevel education with extensive software development experience across the full development lifecycle
- Experience leading development on AWS Cloud Services and both relational and nonrelational databases (Oracle/MongoDB)
- Proven technical ownership of projects and products with a proactive approach to delivering solutions
- Ability to design applications in multitiered environments using Java and related technologies
- Experience in providing estimates/sizing and working with software delivery partners in multivendor environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
- Ability to lead crossfunctional collaboration by establishing strong partnerships with stakeholders including product and design teams
- Proven track record of facilitating development of other team members capabilities
