The Opportunity
This project is pivotal in driving Roches scope 3 reporting supplier engagement and decarbonisation. By increasing alignment of purchased products with activitybased emissions factors (e.g. leveraging the ecoinvent database) you will play a key role in our continuous improvement efforts to refine the companys carbon footprint. Leveraging increasingly accurate and relevant emissions factors is a fundamental part of our GHG data journey as Roche works to meet and exceed its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments.
As a Sustainable Product Analyst Intern you will perform and delve into extensive research to align Roches purchased products with the most relevant activitybased emissions factors leveraging databases such as ecoinvent. This task involves a deep dive into lifecycle assessments and carbon footprint data using bill of materials material quantities and product specifications to find the best correlations within the Ecoinvent database to support Roches sustainability goals. You will contribute to developing streamlined technologybased solutions for managing this data working with our pilot tech partner ensuring data is accurate easily accessible and able to be modelled and reported.
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your Masters studies at a university preferably in the field of Chemistry / Biochemistry / Chemical Engineer (or similar) within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore you are
Lifecycle Assessment (LCA): Understanding of evaluating environmental impacts across a products lifecycle.
GHG Emissions Reporting: Familiarity with calculating and reporting scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
Data Analysis and Research: Ability to manage large datasets conduct research with databases like ecoinvent and align emissions factors with product data.
