Job Description

High School Math Teacher

Job Description:

The DePaul College Prep Mathematics Department seeks a collaborative energetic and positive educator for the role of mathematics teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:

  • Demonstrates a passion for and a deep understanding of mathematics;
  • Has experience teaching a variety of levels and courses (Algebra 1 through Calculus);
  • International Baccalaureate and/or Advanced Placement experience preferred;
  • Implements current best practices in mathematics instruction;
  • Creates a positive learning environment that engages students and maximizes instructional time;
  • Has the ability to define problems analyze data and develop action plans to increase student achievement;
  • Effectively communicates with students and parents;
  • Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
  • Has the ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching;
  • Has experience writing curricula and strong assessments utlizing the Understanding By Design Framework.

Qualifications:

BA/BS in Math

Illinois PEL

MA or MEd preferred
