Summer 2025 Parent ESL Teacher (Stipended Position)
10Week Teaching Commitment: Week of June 2nd August 8 2025
Description:
Everett Public Schools is offering three ESL classes for parents and guardians of ELs who attend Everett Public Schools from June August 2025. EPS is seeking enthusiastic teachers to facilitate meaningful learning experiences for our community.
We are seeking to hire teachers for the following courses:
- ESL 1 (Beginner)
- ESL 2 (Intermediate)
- ESL 3 (Advanced)
Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate engaging lessons either in person or via zoom
- Assign independent work to be completed in between class sessions
- Communicate class schedule with a list of participants; send out weekly reminders about class information
- Facilitate Lessons that incorporate vocabulary reading writing and speaking skills and utilize ageappropriate materials
- Use the WIDA can do descriptors when planning lessons
- Be responsive and helpful to participant questions and requests for additional resources; assist participants in navigating the technology necessary to access the class activities and assignments
- Maintain class attendance records and share updates with the EL Director
Start Date: This position will begin the week of June 2nd 2025 and classes will run through the week of August 4th for a total of 10 weeks (with flexible scheduling for government holidays including school breaks). Teachers will have the flexibility to select the day(s) of the week that work best for them.
Hours: 3 hours of teaching a week (One 3hour class per week OR two 1.5hour classes per week) plus 20 hours of prep 30 hours of teaching and 20 hours of paid prep 50 total hours) at $40/hour. The stipend not to exceed $2000.

Requirements: Teaching License in ESL and/or SEI Endorsement
Compensation: Contractual rate of $40/hour
