Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and 60 hours of college credit or pass the ParaPro examination. Experience collaborating with colleagues dealing with families and/or students from a diverse range of economic social and ethnic backgrounds. Previous experience working with children with special needs is preferred. Ability to accurately record and summarize data as directed and to understand the individual needs of students as identified in their individualized student plans and a willingness to participate in training programs as indicated. Experience and/or familiarity with technological equipment virtual learning platforms and Google Products (Google Docs Google Meets Google Spreadsheets etc) preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate verbally and in print effectively and thoughtfully with parents staff and other stakeholders. Write reports correspondence and related documents. Present information and respond to questions from employees vendors and other stakeholders.
Reasoning Ability: Identify research and resolve concerns through knowledge of special education programs and services. Awareness of the need for sensitivity to the emotion related to meeting the needs of students with special needs and their families.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively with staff students parents and other stakeholders.
