The Role
As a Combat Systems Maintainer you will make a difference by providing critical support to trials ensuring equipment reliability and enhancing the overall efficiency of maritime systems ultimately impacting the development and deployment of advanced technologies in the defence sector.
Daytoday youll be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of GFX equipment and support the success of trials at QinetiQs Portsmouth site.This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Shore Integration Facility (SIF) and National Maritime Systems Centre (NMSC).
Your responsibilities will include:
- ConfiguringGFX equipment and Infrastructure IAW RFMS in order to meet the requirements of the Trials Programme
- Being responsible for the maintenance of all assigned GFX equipment IAW UMMS BRs JSPs and OEM handouts
- EnsuringGFX is safe maintained available and configured for daily trials booked on RFMS
- Working collaboratively with Combat Systems Engineers Teams and Customers to provide support SME advice and Maintainer presence to all trials that require assistanceincluding in situ support
- Being responsible for faultfinding defect rectification reconfiguration of equipment and the supporting of monthly System Operator Checks as designated by the Operations Team
- EnsuringGFX defects are managed and investigated registering defects on RFMS updating defects on a regular basis and keeping the Operations Team informed
Essential experience of the Maintenance Engineer:
- Experience working in a maintenance role relevant to Combat Systems
Essential qualifications for the Maintenance Engineer:
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent

This role is 37 per week based at Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQs key facilities focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. Dedicated to research and development ensuring that complex systems are designed integrated and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
