Position: Trauma Counsellor
Location: White Rock/South Surrey/Cloverdale
Hours: 24/week
Salary: $35.02/hour
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking for a Trauma Counsellor to join our Trauma Counselling team! Ideally this individual must understand the dynamics of interpersonal violence approach the work using an intersectional lens and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Description of Position:
Reporting to: Trauma Counselling/Mens Counselling Manager
General Responsibilities:
- Ensures the health and safety of all clients.
- Adheres to relevant Council on Accreditation standards and Sources Quality Improvement process.
- Adheres to Sources policies and procedures and the Code of Ethics.
- Ensures the rights and dignity of clients are maintained.
- Maintains privacy and confidentiality of clients and client files.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development related to Indigenous histories cultures and perspectives and apply this knowledge to your work.
- Creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment within the organization and addressing any instances of discrimination harassment or other harmful behaviour that dont support the principles of diversity equity inclusion and belongingness.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- Masters degree in Psychology Counselling Psychology Social Work (with counselling experience).
- Clear criminal record check.
- Training in therapeutic modalities (SE EMDR IFS Motivational Interviewing etc.
- Two years experience with trauma depression and/or anxiety.
- Registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and/or Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
- Bonafide Occupation Requirement to identify as a woman.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous Peoples (First Nations Mtis and Inuit) LGBTQ2S BIPOC and Visible Minorities with one to three years of recent related experience working in counselling and communitybased resources.
- Passionate about working with individuals and helping them overcome challenges.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to utilize Office suite including Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook Feedback Informed Training and OWL.
- Ability to effectively communicate professionally verbally and in written English.
- Sanyas Training and Indigenous approaches are an asset.
