Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Learner (E.L.L. Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds helping them achieve academic success and confidence in their English language skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of E.L.L. students.
- Assess students language proficiency and monitor their progress.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters language acquisition.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Provide individual and small group support to enhance language development.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in E.L.L. education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education TESOL Linguistics or a related field (Masters preferred).
- Valid teaching certification (if applicable) and endorsement in E.L.L. or ESL.
- Experience teaching E.L.L. students is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students staff and families.
- Cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of diverse learners.
