Job Description

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Recreation Park and Tourism Management (RPTM) within the College of Health and Human Development (HHD) at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar beginning in Fall 2025. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of Dr. Lauren Duffy Professor and Head of RPTM contributing to research projects related to tourism leisure and other related contexts with particular focus on research that connects to the mission of the College to improve human health development and the quality of life. This position is intended to provide mutual support for the development of the Postdoctoral Scholar and their research program with opportunities for grantwriting and coauthorship of research articles while also supporting the Department Heads research program on various projects.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will be involved with the following tasks:

This is a 12month position beginning August 15 2025 and will follow the established rates of Postdoctoral appointments at the NIH/NRSA FY 2025 level. International postdoctoral scholars/fellows must comply with federal regulations and University policies. The foreign national must have valid employment authorization for the appointments duration. A postdoctoral scholars failure to maintain work authorization will result in termination.

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security such as those concerning alcohol and drug use crime prevention the reporting of crimes sexual and other matters.
