About KSFY:
KSFY/KDLT is an awardwinning television operation serving viewers in the eastern half of South Dakota as well as portions of southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa. The stations operate from a new studio in downtown Sioux Falls as one rebranded organization called Dakota News Now. The Dakota News Now team produces 38 hours of news each week. Some of our employees have been here for more than 25 years. For others this is their first job out of college. Its a great mix that gives us different perspectives while covering the news. Job Summary/Description:
Dakota News Now is seeking a dynamic Producer/Multimedia Journalist to join their newsroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing daily newscasts while also contibuting content to digital news platforms. This role requires strong news judgment excellent storytelling abilities and proficiency in both live reporting and social media engagement.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Work with producers news director and assignment desk to plan newscasts
Demonstrate excellent news judgment and journalism ethics
Exhibit strong writing storytelling and reporting skills
Produce newscast rundowns write stories build graphics and coordinate with control room and field crews
Utilize social media and online news production effectively
Manage time and organize tasks efficiently
Be willing to work longer hours and different days as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors or masters degree in journalism or related field
Basic experience with newsroom computer systems (ENPS) is preferred
Understanding of AP Style and broadcast writing
Ability to lift/carry equipment ranging from 3550 lbs
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Professional representation of the station in the community and on social media
Desire to win and ability to reflect on work and apply feedback
