Job Description
Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Power BI Engineer to contribute to the modernization and transformation of our PLM landscape. In this handson role you will be a key member of a team responsible for migrating legacy datacenterbased BI solutions to Power BI. You will work on the design development deployment and maintenance BI applications ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
As a Senior Power BI Engineer you will leverage your deep knowledge and your experience with BI application migration to build and maintain scalable secure and reliable BI solutions. You will collaborate closely with architects engineers and operations teams to deliver highquality cloudbased solutions.
Responsibilities
- Migrate Web Focus 8.* reports to Web Focus 9.* reports containerized platform
- Design develop and optimize Web FOCUS 9. * Reports dashboards and analytics solutions.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights through data visualization.
- Create and maintain efficient and scalable report queries for performance optimization with backends such as Big Query PostgreSQL SQL Server
- Develop and manage metadata master files and access control within Web FOCUS.
- Integrate Web FOCUS with various data sources databases and cloud platforms.
- Ensure data integrity governance and security across all reporting solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to report performance data accuracy and user accessibility.
- Collaborate with BI developers data engineers and analysts to enhance data reporting capabilities.
- Document the solutions and provide training and support to endusers and junior developers.
- Stay up to date with the latest Web FOCUS and BI industry trends to improve reporting processes.
Qualifications
- 10 years of total experience with 5 years of handson experience in Web FOCUS 8.* reports application.
- Expertise in creating reports dashboards and visualizations using Web FOCUS 8.* along with familiarity in migrating Web Focus 8.* to Web Focus 9.*
- Knowledge with data modeling schema design and Big Query optimization
- Experience integrating Web FOCUS with relational databases (Oracle SQL Server PostgreSQL etc.. and Big Query on GCP
- Proficiency in JavaScript HTML and CSS for customizing Web FOCUS reports.
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform Data Engineering services
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and UI/UX principles for BI solutions.
- Knowledge of performance tuning query optimization and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Web Focus reports.
- A strong Individual contributor with analytical and problemsolving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Data Engineering Services
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipelines.
- Web FOCUS certification or advanced training.
- Experience with automation and scripting for report scheduling.
- Knowledge of other BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
