Who are we looking for

Our Engineering Design Organization is looking for a proactive gogetter with a cando attitude who thrives on working collaboratively with various teams in an agile and fastpaced environment. As our Intermediate Electrical Engineer working out one of our GTA offices you will play an instrumental role on the Power & Lighting team supporting design projects involving traffic signals systems street lighting and power distribution systems.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Preparing designs for projects involving traffic signalization and street lighting systems
  • Conducting site investigations inspections assessments etc.
  • Preparation of detailed specifications and schedules of quantities
  • Coordination and liaison with clients approving authorities and outside design team members
  • Providing direction to and coordination with internal designers/drafting team
  • Technical review and quality control of design drawings
  • Sealing of plans
  • Contributing to the preparation of proposals and fee estimates
  • Adhering to project budgets and timelines for deliverables
  • Mentoring of junior staff

What you will bring to the team:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and is registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
  • Minimum 510 years related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and design guidelines including Ontario Electrical Safety Code Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Ontario Traffic Manual OTM Book 7 12 and 12A IESNA RP8 and applicable TAC guidelines
  • Strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills
  • Selfmotivated and able to manage multiple projects
  • Aptitude for business development work
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Solid experience with AGI32
  • Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • G class drivers license
