Theology Teacher
Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep Theology Department seeks a collaborative energetic and positive educator for the role of theology teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:
- Has a passion for imparting social justicefocused theological education and understands its importance for high school students in the modern world;
- Collaborates with course team members to create a positive and rigorous learning environment for all students;
- Builds and facilitates pedagogically relevant content that fosters deep conversations and critical thinking skills within theological coursework;
- Offers consistent and constructive feedback to student work that creates a growth mindset for each student;
- Strong skills in classroom management engagement and daily routines which will enhance student learning and educational stability;
- Motivated to continue learning and reading outside of prep for the classroom to model lifelong learning;
- Willing to adjust and be flexible with changes that will happen throughout the academic year;
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Support the mission and ministry of the school by active participation in student retreats school liturgies prayer services and community service;
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching.
Qualifications:
BA degree in Theology
MA degree is preferred
