Position Summary

The HR Coordinator position will provide administrative support for the Human Resources Department focusing on talent acquisition employee relations training workers compensation and partner with the management team to provide consultation and support on HR initiatives.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $27.00$30.00.

For FullTime roles: Benefits: Health Dental and Vision insurance 401(k) savings plan 401(k) matching and paid time off (vacation days sick days and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until July 4 2025.

About the Venue

McCormick Place located in Downtown Chicago is the largest and most flexible convention center in North America. With over 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space the campus proudly hosts some of the worlds largest and most prestigious conventions meetings and trade shows welcoming approximately 3 million visitors to Chicago every year.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate established OVG Human Resources policies procedures and standards.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance employee development and retention.
  • Respond to employee questions related to benefits employee relations company policies and procedures.
  • Recruits interviews screens job applicants to fill entry level positions.
  • Oversee OFCCP AAP Reporting.
  • Manage onboarding process new hire orientation.
  • Verifies I9 documentation and maintains documentation in accordance with applicable Federal Law and State Law.
  • Assist with filing First Report of Injury with Workers Compensation carrier and update log.
  • Respond to all Unemployment Verification inquiries.
  • Update HR database with employee change requests and process paperwork.
  • Assist Human Resource management with managing Collective Bargaining Agreement and responding to all Union requests for information.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or 3 years of HR Generalist experience.
  • Proven ability to work independently and to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills including reporting creative thinker.
  • Experience working in a Union environment with clear understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable of ADP ABI ICIMS etc. systems.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling have a sense of urgency multitask and possess a professional personality.
  • Strong computer skills i.e. PowerPoint Excel Word.
