As a Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) for the Peripherals Infrastructure Engineering Services (PIES) team you will play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of peripheral devices within Amazons Operations buildings. Your focus will be on overseeing programs related to the integration management and maintenance of peripherals such as cameras scanners and printers that are attached to Fulfillment Center (FC) based workcells. This complex crossfunctional program has considerable impact as it supports the seamless operation of various solution teams across Amazons entire network of FCs sort centers and delivery stations.
In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for peripheral device management within the Unified Workcell Compute (UWC) ecosystem. Youll work closely with engineering teams to enhance UWCs capabilities in peripheral registration DHCP provision and firmware update support. Your program will need to align with UWCs core tenets especially the Cattle Not Pets approach ensuring that peripheral devices are managed consistently and at scale minimizing oneoff solutions and custom interventions.
You will partner with solution teams hardware providers and internal stakeholders to define requirements set objectives and drive improvements in peripheral management. This includes overseeing the development of CDK constructs and APIs that allow teams to efficiently onboard and manage their peripheral fleets. Youll need to understand the technical intricacies of how peripherals interact with UWC clients particularly within the Amazon Edge environment and make strategic decisions about peripheral management architecture that can scale to support hundreds of thousands of devices across thousands of sites.
Your role will involve continuous evaluation and improvement of peripheral management processes. Youll analyze data on peripheral performance reliability and maintenance needs driving enhancements that can be quantified with metrics. Youll also be responsible for ensuring that peripheral management aligns with UWCs broader device monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities integrating with services like DeviceWatch to provide comprehensive visibility into the health and status of all connected devices. As a senior TPM youll be expected to communicate complex technical concepts effectively write detailed program plans and present progress and outcomes to leadership always keeping an eye on how peripheral management contributes to the overall efficiency and reliability of Amazons operations.
