Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources Operations the Human Resources Operations Generalist works as part of a team in the Human Resource Service Center serving as the first point of contact for handling inquiries from employees and others regarding benefits payroll talent acquisition and development classification and compensation and all other HRrelated issues and processes. This role will have an emphasis on document management in addition to normal Operations Generalist responsibilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide customer service in an academic and professional environment by answering phone calls emails and coordinating the ticketing system to provide support.
Determine when it is appropriate to direct inquiries to subject matter experts within the Human Resources departments.
Handle inquiries through a variety of delivery methods and is able to work in a fastpaced environment that is detail oriented.
Work effectively with a broad range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Maintain highest degree of confidentiality at all times.
Work with a ticket system to support the employee experience and to track inquiries gather data monitor response time and increase accuracy.
Maintain general knowledge of processes related to including but not limited to: benefits leaves of absence payroll compensation recruitment and employee and labor relations.
Identify workflow solutions and make recommendations to resolve and support the university community.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
Process I9 and other HR related forms.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree from accredited college or university.
Minimum 2 years of demonstrated progressive HR generalist experience in a complex organization.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to influence at all levels using excellent communication problemsolving and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive environment.
Willingness to travel to offcampus meetings as needed.
Ability to work flexible hours and to have a strong physical presence on campus. Some remote work flexibility available.
PREFERRED:
Experience in a higher education environment.
Experience in a unionized environment.
