Job Description:

Location Options: Winamac IN; Carmel IN; or Remote.
Work Expectation: 50 of the will be allocated in the office at either the Winamac or Carmel location. The remaining 50 will be remote or involve travel.

General Purpose: The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for sourcing specific commodities or categories of products and services. This role involves negotiating contracts managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely and costeffective acquisition of materials and services. The Commodity Manager plays a critical role in optimizing supply chain performance and achieving organizational goals related to cost quality and delivery.

Essential Function: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Implement sourcing strategies for key spending categories.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Evaluate family of Commodity suppliers and monitor performance of suppliers to contract and cost targets.
  • Establish definitive measures to drive suppliers health while detecting supplier risks.
  • Oversee the preparation and reporting of commodity buying trends and strategies.
  • Achieve year over year Cost reduction initiatives in selected commodities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in business Supply Chain Management or related field; MBA preferred or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience equal to 10 years.
  • 5 years of successful performance in Strategic Procurement & Sourcing preferably in electronics automotive or manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong ERP background Epicor a plus.
  • Strong analytical & Problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel 20.
